“What’s going on Mia.” Brian asked impatiently, he knew Dom and the rest of the team were about to pull a heist and he needed to know where.

“Nothing Brian.” She shrugged him off, knowing Dom would kill her if she ever said anything.

“What so you always have tears in your eyes when Dom drives away? I’m talking about the trucks Mia you know about the trucks?” He knew she did, he’d just seen her and Dom arguing about it before he drove off.

“No what trucks? Jesus.” She pulled away from him but he grabbed her again.

“Mia I’m a cop.” The words she’d dreaded came out of his mouth.

“What is this Brian?” Maybe she’d heard wrong, she deluded herself.

“I’m a cop. Ever since I’ve met you I’ve been undercover.” He explained.

“You bastard.” She pulled away again but he wouldn’t let her go.

“Get off of me Brian!” She yelled at him, trying to break free but not able to. He was going on about something to do with the trucks and the team getting hurt but all she could think of was how he’d betrayed her.

And then it sunk in. He was after the guys and he knew they were doing the trucks and he must have seen her and Dom arguing. @#%$ she had to warn Dom. If they did this one they’d get caught and she wasn’t going to let her brother get put back in prison because she’d been stupid enough to fall for a cop.

“Leave me alone.” She tore her arm free and started running having to get away from him and call her brother. But where could she go? The team weren’t there to help her this time she had to think for herself.

Hector! There was his camp up ahead, he’d help her.

“Hector! Hector help me!” She ran up to him and caught her breath, looking for Brian behind her.

“What? What’s wrong?” He asked, wondering why she’d come to him instead of Dom.

“I need to call Dom. He’s gone to do something and I have to tell him something.” She babbled and he still didn’t understand.

“Yeah what you need a phone?” He asked, pulling his out of his pocket and offering it to her.

“No I’ve got one. I need you to keep Brian away from me. He’s a cop and he won’t leave me alone.” She told him not giving him the whole story but enough for him to help her. She was banking on his hatred of cops.

“You got it.”

“Alonzo, Marlon get over here!” He called a couple of his boys over and filled them in, telling them not to let the cop within ten metres of the tent.

When they heard he was a cop a vicious pleasure came onto their faces at the task and Mia figured Brian wouldn’t get away from Race Wars without a beating of some kind. But that wasn’t her problem.

The boys headed off to find him and Hector let Mia sit inside his car so she could make her call.

Ring, ring. ‘Come on Dom answer the phone.’ She thought to herself hoping they hadn’t already started.

“Yeah?” His voice rumbled over the line and she breathed a sigh of relief.

“Dom it’s Mia, you’ve gotta come back.” She said urgently.

“Look Mia we’ve talked about this...” He started but she cut him off.

“It’s not that. You’ve got trouble, Brian’s a cop. He knows about the trucks and he’s figured out you’re doing one tonight.”

“@#%$! How the hell did he find out?” Dom asked, and she could tell by his tone that he was pissed.

“I dunno but you’ve gotta get back here now.”

“Aight, we’ll get rid of the cars and be back soon. Are you alright?”

“Yeah I’m with Hector, he’s keeping Brian away from me.”

“Good stay with him, I’ll come get you when we get back.” He hung up and turned to the others who were standing around watching him.

“What’s wrong Dom?” Letty asked seeing the fury on his face.

“You were right Vince @#%$ Brian’s a cop. And he knows about the trucks. We’ve gotta get rid of these cars and get back to Race Wars.” He told them and they immediately got to work on their agreed upon plan if they were ever found out.
Leon got the can of gasoline and they torched the cars and everything around that could give them away.

Then they headed back to Mia, all of them thinking about how lucky they were not to pull that job and angry at Brian and his betrayal.

Letty felt bad for Mia, who had fallen hard for the cop, she had to be heartbroken. And she knew that she would have to attempt to control Dom who’d want to kill Brian for hurting his sister, even though she felt the same way herself. They couldn’t risk Dom being sent to prison again for beating on a cop, she couldn’t survive it again and she didn’t think he or Mia could either.

They’d grab Mia, find Jesse and then head down to that beach in Mexico and lay low for a while. As far as she knew, other than the Civics that were now burning, there was nothing to connect them to the trucks.

“Mia’s with Hector let’s go.” Dom commanded as soon as they reached their camp site.

“Hey Hector, thanks for looking after Mia for me. I owe you one.” Dom said, shaking his hand while his eyes roamed around for his sister.

“No worries man. She’s over in the car, he hasn’t come near her.” Hector pointed to his pride and joy, which he never let anyone sit in.

Dom strode over to it and pulled open the door, seeing his sister huddled up inside.

“Dom!” She saw him and launched herself out of the car at her brother, tears of relief falling down her face.

“It’s alright everything’s fine. Come on let’s get out of here.” He wrapped a massive arm around her and led her back to where all their cars were waiting for them.

“Grab anything you need and let’s go.” He told his team and within five minutes they were heading back to L.A away from the debacle Race Wars had turned into.

“What are we gonna do dawg?” Vince asked when they reached the house and piled out.

“We’re gonna pack anything we need and head down to Mexico.” Dom decreed and Leon got a stubborn look on his face.

“I’m not leavin without Jess. Tran’ll kill him.”

“I know. Letty stay here with Mia. We’re gonna go find him, be ready to leave when we get back.” He ordered the girls and saw the worry on their faces despite Letty’s attempt to hide it.

“Be careful.” She whispered as he hugged her and Mia.

“I will. It’ll be aight, I promise.”

The two girls watched as the guys left then Letty pushed Mia into the house and got her busy helping her pack her and the boy’s stuff so they wouldn’t have to hang around any longer than necessary when they returned.

Dom, Vince and Leon all headed separate ways figuring they could cover more territory that way and prayed that Tran hadn’t already found Jesse. He was no match for the crazy pair and would be dead unless they found him first.

Leon was driving downtown when he saw the familiar white Jetta pulled over on the side of the road with a cop car behind it. Of all the rotten luck. Here they were on the run from the cops and Jesse was pulled over by one.

“Hey Dom, I found him.” Leon got on his two way.

“Good head back to the house and we’ll meet you there.”

“It’s not that simple, we’ve got a problem.”

“What now?” God couldn’t anything go right today?

“He’s been pulled over by a cop. What do you want me to do?” Leon asked and heard Dom swear in frustration on the other end.

“Get him out of it and back to the house. They can’t be onto us already.” He said, hoping he was right or two of his team would be going to prison.

“Aight I’m on it.” Leon got off the two way and pulled in behind the cop.

“Jess, where’ve you been? We’ve been looking for you.” He walked up and checked him out for any injuries before the cop butted in.

“Who are you?” He asked suspiciously.

“Leon. I’m a friend of Jesse’s.” He answered truthfully, putting on his best innocent face.

“Leon, I don’t know what I’m doing man, I panicked.” Jesse raved sounding terrified.

“Is he on drugs.” The cop asked and Leon laughed.

“No, he’s got that ADD stuff. What’s the problem here?”

“I caught him speeding. Why’s he so upset?” The cop was starting to get annoying not letting anything drop.

“His girlfriend just broke up with him, they’ve been together for a few years ya know.” Leon made up the first story he could think of praying Jesse would try and play it cool.

“Alright just make sure he slows down in future.” The cop finally wrote out the ticket and handed it to Leon and drove off in his patrol car.

“@#%$ I thought he’d never go.” Leon breathed again then got Jesse back on track again.

“Jesse listen to me carefully. Brian is a cop and he knows about the trucks. We’ve gotta get out of here and back to the house with the others so we can head off to Mexico aight?” He spoke slowly and carefully making sure his friend understood.

“What? How did that happen?” Jesse looked confused at the sudden change in crisis.

“It doesn’t matter. We’ve gotta get back to the house ok. Can you do that?” He asked and watched proudly as Jesse focussed and nodded.

“Yep.”

“Just follow me plain and simple.” Leon patted him on the back then headed back to his own car and pulled out in front of Jesse. He kept an eye out for the Trans as they drove as well as making sure Jess was still with him all the way and luckily they made it back to the house safely.

The others were all waiting out front for them and they crowded round Jesse as he got out of the Jetta.

“Are you alright?” Mia was the first to him and hugged him tight.

“Yeah.” He answered overwhelmed by all the attention.

“Don’t do that to us again.” She scolded stepping back, allowing him to breathe and he smiled sheepishly.

“I won’t.” He promised.

“Aight the girls have packed for us so let’s get this show on the road.” Dom declared, impatient to get out of L.A and away from both Tran and the cops before something else happened.

“Where we going?” Jesse asked forgetting again.

“Mexico brother, follow me.” Vince said reminding him.

“Cool.” With that sorted they went to jump in their cars when they all heard the ominous sound of motorbikes.

“@#%$! Inside now!” Dom yelled pushing the girls ahead of him, knowing in his gut that it was Tran coming for Jesse.

The girls scrambled into the house, Dom made it to the porch and Vince the stairs when the two Trans came into sight.

Everyone hit the deck and Leon pulled Jesse with him behind one of the cars as the bullets started flying from the automatic guns they had.

“Dom?” Letty yelled flying out of the house when the bullets stopped and falling down at his side to see if he was hurt while Mia went to Vince and Leon checked Jesse.

“I’m ok. It’s alright.” Dom comforted Letty wrapping her in his arms to reassure her as they stood up.

“Vince are you hurt?” Mia asked checking him over and hugging him when he said he wasn’t.

“Jesse, Jesse? Answer me man are hit?” Leon asked frantically looking him over for any blood as Jesse tried to get over his shock and answer.

“No, I’m ok.” He replied and everyone breathed a huge sigh of relief that they’d managed to avoid getting hurt by the flying bullets. From what they could tell the only damage was to the house and a couple of the cars but it wasn’t too bad.

“Everyone good?” Dom double checked.

“Yeah.” They all answered until Mia suddenly shrieked.

“Oh my god Leon! You’re bleeding.” She ran over to him as he looked down at himself in shock, not even realising there was something wrong with him.

The others all rushed over to him as Mia bent down and rolled up his pants to see where he was bleeding and how bad it was.

“Letty go get the first aid kit from the bathroom.” She ordered and Letty ran to do her bidding.

“How bad is it?” Dom asked but Leon beat Mia to it.

“It’s nothing, just a scratch.” He didn’t want anyone worrying over him besides it hardly hurt.

“Mia?” Dom asked his sister, knowing that Leon wouldn’t tell them if he was dying.

“He’s right, it just grazed him but I want to clean it so it doesn’t get infected.” She reassured them all taking the first aid kit Letty shoved at her.

She cleaned up the wound with antiseptic as they all watched on and Leon hissed as it burned where the bullet had hit.

“Sorry.” She apologised but as usual he shrugged it off.

“It’s fine.” He didn’t want a fuss made about it.

“You’re one hell of a guy dawg.” Vince said admiringly as his friend stood there and took it all without a word of complaint.

“That’s me.” Leon smirked at them lightening the tension as they all laughed.

Mia finished up by putting a dressing over the graze and ordering him to tell her if it started hurting or the skin around it got red.

“So we ready to go now?” Dom asked again as Mia stored the kit in her car.

“Yeah let’s get out of here.” Letty agreed wanting to leave as soon as possible.

“Are you gonna be alright to drive Leon?”

“Yeah no worries.” He flexed his leg and tested it and found it didn’t hurt all that much.

“Then let’s get the hell out of here.” They all got in their cars and headed off to Mexico and safety with Dom in the lead and the others all following as usual.
