Prologue
Connies POV~Brooklyn, New York
I woke to the ringing of the phone once twice I rolled over in bed to look at the clock; it blinked 4:05 am. ((Who the hell is calling me at this time)) Hello? I spoke groggily into the phone and got no response hello?! there was a ruffling noise no the other end
Connie, you there? This is Dom, a deep voice said. I was in shock; it took me a while to find my voice. Dom? Why are you calling? Where are you? What happened? the questions flew out of me in a rush. ((Dom calling me, something had to be wrong. I hadnt seen or spoken to Dom, Mia, or the rest of the team, in over a year))
@#%$ hit the fan thats what happened, Dom growled. I frowned, Okay, Dom where are you? Where is everybody? I replied. There was silence until Dom spoke. Im in Mexico with Letty, Leon, Vince and Jesse. Mias in California, Dom didnt say anything after that, and I wouldnt dare speak so I waited. Connie, the reason I called you was to ask you if we could come out and stay with you? He sounded really weird like it was hard for him to get that sentence out. ((Maybe because hes never had to depend on the backs of others they always depended on him)) So can we come stay with you? he asked again ((Like I would say no!))
Dom of course you guys can come stay with me. When do you plan on getting here? I was trying to hide my excitement in my voice, but failing miserably. I couldnt wait to see my Family again.
I was thinking next month. Itll give us time to have Mia wrap things up in Cali. Ill tell the team tonight and call Mia, Dom stated like he was in deep thought. Ill call you back alright? I nodded. ((Like he could see me anyway)) Yah, thats alright. Tell everyone I said whats up I was delirious with excitement, but then got serious Dom you know Im here for you I love you cuz.
I heard Dom chuckle, then say I know. I love you too Connie. Talk to you later. I hung up the phone, and checked the time. Whoa 4:15 I really need sleep, I have to be at work in 3 hours. I laid on my back staring at the ceiling; I started thinking about Dom, Mia, and the team coming to live with me; its gonna be great theyre comin to New York! I wonder what could have happened to make Dom want to come out here, but nothing came to mind and it didnt matter. What happened in the past should stay in the past, and come hell and high water I was determined to make them see that. I smiled to myself, and if all else failed at least Ill get to see Leon my cousins are just a bonus. I laughed to myself and tried to get some shuteye.
