PS DROXI WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU?!? ARE YOU STILL READING THIS GARABAGE?
CHapter 131
Dinner was quiet, and not another word was said about the white boy. Mia kept trying to glare at me, but it wasnt working. It never did. I couldnt ever remember a time when we were mad at each other. The boys scarfed their food down, and headed right back into the living room to play video games.
I lingered in the kitchen, and dried the dishes as Mia handed them to me.
I had to say something Mia. I said trying to get her to talk. She rolled her eyes over to me, and dunked a cup in the sudsy water. It was eating me up inside. I sighed. He was going to find out sooner or later right? I asked. She smiled slightly.
I guess thats true. She said slowly. Its just that I wanted to keep him to myself for a while you know? I turned to face her.
Every time I show interest in someone, Dom is right there ready to attack. She turned the faucet off. And dried her hands on the towel I was using. She stepped back to the counter, and scooted back onto the counter. I continued drying the dishes.
Frank was scared away before I could even go out with him five times. She giggled a little to herself. But he was a weirdo anyway. He always had to wear brown socks. I giggled with her. The wooly argyle ones. We giggled harder. You should have seen him rolling them down when I took him to the beach. That was it. We giggled so hard, that Mia choked on her own spit, and I dropped a plate in the sink bringing the boys to the kitchen doorway with curious looks.
When our laughter died down, and the boys went back to their video games, I sat at the table while Mia made tea for her, and coffee for me. So why dont you just act like you arent interested in him when Dom's around? I asked. Mia smiled.
You're so lucky you have Dom, and dont need to flirt with guys she said with a laugh. She dropped a lemon slice in her teacup.
What do you mean? I asked bristling.
Because you're approach at being a hardass, always scares boys away, or makes them race bad. She said knowingly. I considered her observations, and nodded.
I guess you're right. I muttered softly.
Anyway, I think I have a chance at this guy. She said handing me my mug. He's always watching me, like interest, not obsessed. And he's so sweet. And hell, he likes my tuna! I smiled.
No one ate Mias tuna. She was the only one who knew how to make it, and even then it wasnt made good. Customers, who ordered it once, never ate it again. And now here comes this pretty boy who ordered it every day he came in.
Well, in my opinion I said. I dont like the kid. Mia snorted.
Letty you dont like anyone. She said.
I like you! I snapped. She giggled.
You know what I mean. She said. I harrumphed, and crossed my arms over my chest.
I just want to see you with Vince. I said quietly. Mia raised an eyebrow. I cant picture you with anyone but him. I said.
Letty, the truth is, I cant picture myself with anyone but him either but we just cant be together. She said quickly. And you know that.
She stood from the table, and dumped the rest of her tea down the drain. She left the kitchen, without a word, and that was it. I gulped the rest of my coffee, and set the mug in the sink. I wandered out into the living room in search of something fun to do.
My eyes landed on Dom who was sprawled out on the couch yelling at Jesse to turn.
Turn there No back there. He shouted. Over by the red building. Jesse sat three inches from the TV, the tip of his tongue sticking out the tiniest bit, and the remote cranked out to the side, like it was helping him turn.
It wont let me! He cried. Vince let out a triumphant yell as he passed Jesses car, and wont he race.
Yeah! He shouted. Jesse set his lips in a firm line, and grunted congratulations.
One more race. Jesse said, more determined.
They started up again as I made my way over their bodies that were scattered across the floor. The room was dark, and the scattered limbs made it hard to move. I finally got to the end of the couch, and very carefully, climbed over the side of the couch. Dom jumped a little, until he realized it was me. I crawled over his body, and straddled his hips.
He opened his mouth to talk, but I gently placed my hand over it, and then swiftly replaced it with my own mouth. I felt his lips turn up in a smile, and then his hands on my back pulling me closer, if possible, to him. I ground my hips into his, and he squeezed me tighter. I moaned the slightest bit, and Vince turned his head.
Jeeeaaze! He shouted. Get a @#%$ room. He snapped. Were playing a game here. Dom reached behind him and grabbed one of the pillows out from under his head. He chucked it at Vince, who dropped the remote to the game.
@#%$ you! His voice rose an octave. Dom laughed a little.
Oh yeah! Jesse shouted. His red car passed Vince's slowing blue car, and zipped past the finish line in first. Jesse was on his feet cheering until Vince's even glare made him crash back to his ass. Rematch? He couldnt mask the humor in his face.
Yeah kid. Vince grumbled. And you. He pointed a finger at Dom. @#%$ you.
Dom smiled. No thanks man. Ill let Letty handle that part. He turned back at me, smiling from his remark, and all I could do was roll my eyes.
For that you can give me a massage. I said, crossing my arms. He smiled.
And then what? He asked.
And then I'm going to sleep. I said smiling. I wedged myself between him and the couch, and stuck a foot in his side, wiggling my toes.
He squealed and leapt off the couch. Satisfied with the reaction I got, I sprawled out on the couch. I'm waiting. I said sweetly.
Yeah, yeah. He grumbled. He carefully climbed over me, and placed a knee on each side of my ass. His thick hands dug into my tired shoulders, and just like I promised, I was asleep in minutes.
CHAPTER 132
The next day, I was lonely at work. Dom was with Mia at the store, and lord knew what was happening there. I figured he would come back to the garage after lunch was done, and Brian had left, but he never showed up. The boys and I finished up some @#%$ at the garage, and Vince booked a few appointments for the next week. Mia had taught him how to set appointments in the office one day months ago I bet thats not all that happened in the office
As soon as I got home that night I headed into the kitchen to drill Mia. I found her reading the back of a fried chicken recipe box. She smiled up at me from the stove, and went right back to her reading. Her lips moved slightly as she read the words in her head. I went to the fridge, and got out four Coronas, and a can of Dr. Pepper for Jesse. I opened each drink, took a Corona for myself, and waited until the herd was finished.
Like clockwork, the boys filtered into the kitchen. Jesse grabbed his pop and tipped it back, Leon and Vince grabbed a beer apiece, and clanked bottles together before drinking, while Dom thundered his way down the stairs now that his friends were home from school. Dom grabbed the remaining beer, and leaned over to press a kiss onto the side of my forehead.
Hey baby. He whispered in a gruff groggy voice. He must have been sleeping.
Hey Dom. I said back. Vince headed to the stove to taste Mia's gravy, while Jesse pilfered through the fridge looking for a before dinner snack.
Unless you want to help, then you shouldnt be in here. Mia said loudly, not even looking up from the recipe.
Out went Jesse and Leon, out went Vince with gravy on his chin, and after one last kiss, Dom scampered out after them. They all headed out into the front yard to talk about something that was wrong with Vince's air conditioning.
They're like five year olds. Mia muttered turning back to the stove. I laughed. I went to the cabinets, and started pulling out dishes and bowls to set the table.
Speaking of five year olds what did Dom say to Brian today? I asked trying to sound nonchalant.
Not a damn thing! She shouted, like she had forgotten all about telling me. And then she was off. He sat in the office, and didnt say a damn word all day. Well he did help me with two sandwiches, but he mostly just sat there eating the stock. My jaw dropped.
You're @#%$ kidding me. I said. I laid the plates down on the table, one at each spot. After talking all that @#%$ last night he didnt even talk? Mia shook her head.
Nothing. She said again. She tossed a pan of chicken into the hot oven, and slammed the door closed. She dusted her hands on a towel that hung from her belt loop. It really pissed me off. I would much rather be there when he wants to beat the @#%$ out of him then find out later why Brian has a black eye. I laughed. Dom was way too predictable.
Maybe he likes the guy. I said, taking a chug of beer. Maybe he thinks he's aight. I shrugged my shoulders. I thought the kid was a pansy.
No, think about what you just said. She snorted. When has Dom ever liked anyone outside of the team?
Well there is Ha I started. Mia cut me of.
Harry doesnt count. She muttered giving me a look. And look at how he treated Jesse when he came along and he was just a kid.
Hes still a kid. I muttered. But I get what you mean. I say just keep an eye on him. He wont start @#%$ for the hell of it. He's not one to go pickin fights. Mi nodded.
True. she said. She slumped down in one of the chairs at the table, and sighed. Boys suck. She muttered. I nodded in agreement.
Yeah sometimes they do. I said a smile creeping on my lips. I leaned back in the chair, and peered out into the living room. Dom looked up from the TV at the same time, and sent me a wink. But sometimes I just settle with the fact that I'm really lucky. Mia rolled her eyes.
You're a princess. She muttered. I smiled.
Youre just jealous. I said with a laugh.
Maybe I am. She said quietly. Maybe I am she got up and went to the sink, and I took it as my cue to leave the room.
Dinner was silent that night, and Dom was quiet too. When we went to bed, the only thing we could hear was the couple that lived next-door fighting. They always fought. Hell they spent so much time fighting, that they never left the house. I fell asleep with one of Dom's arm wrapped around me. I wanted to know what he thought about Brian.
